12. What do I do now?

If having read the investing pages you are keen to start investing then this is what I would do:

1. Follow the personal finance flow chart to make sure I was ready to invest

2. Decide what my aims for investing were.  If saving for retirement then it may be worth considering extra pension, TPS additional pension, or a SIPP. If saving for shorter term goals then invest in a Stocks and Shares ISA.

3. Open a Stocks and Shares ISA with a reputable company recommended by Which.

4. Invest a small amount according to my risk tolerance in an All World tracker fund with low fees.

5. Keep regularly investing without looking at the figures every day to avoid noise.

6. Use some compound interest calculators and a spreadsheet to model a range of potential outcomes at different rates of return.

7. Sit back and let time and compounding do the hard work.
